Pinstripe Serenity by 6amcrisis Pinstripe Serenity by 6amcrisis
PLEASE NOTE: I've had to reduce the quality of the pic and watermark it because some people are modifying the pic and encouraging others to print it on tshirts and use it for tattoos without payment. I've put in a lot of time to create a work that is different from all the other Firefly images out there and a unique tribute to the show. I think the majority of you respect that and would actively discourage people if you saw it happening online. - Vince

Pinstripe Serenity - My custom car/pinstripe/hotrod/lowbrow/poster art design for Firefly's Serenity is finally done. Went through about 10 different looks before I settled on this - that's what you get when you don't work to a plan and just make it up as you go. Let this be a warning to you all :)

This is amazing and I won't lie, it did kickstart an idea for a tattoo that I have been very on the fence about.

I'll be using a similar piece I have found online (maybe it was an older version? certainly did not have the Fancy detailing around the ship) to sort of work my concept, and if I am happy with the idea I will definitely give you props and buy something from you.

Of course before any ink is set I will probably message you again with the concept to know that you are okay with how I used your piece to create something more personal to me :)

(the general idea is to incorporate several geekdom elements into the shape of the Firefly-class ship Serenity ^^ )

Yeah, I've often though that also, but I only did 1 or two more designs I think. I wouldn't mind revisiting the idea though in future. When I have more time :)

You're welcome. This has such a strong Steam Punk feel to it too. Might get a few of those I know interested as well.

This is gorgeous, and it is different enough from the other Firefly-related work that I think it's a wonderful addition . . .
A great tribute to a wondrous show.

Thanks Wolf-kin, I was determined to do something different for my addition to all the Firefly artwork. This is roughly the pic that popped into my head a while ago, so who am I to argue with my brain? :)

Thanks elfy001 - it was definitely designed with tshirts and tattoos in mind, as it's a personal favourite style of mine, so I appreciate your comment :)

This is some serious collness. I love this ship and what you've done to it. I see the Firefly "f" on the left and the Chinese symbols on the right. Worth the time and effort IMHO. I'd love to see the pinstriping on a 3D model. Awesome work, man.

Thanks SpaceCowboy5000 - but I don't know if I'm feeling courageous enough to try working up a full 3D pinstripe!

That would be a big step. One guy on this CGI site went complete nutsoid with pinstripe. He created a futuristic 3D car then worked pinstripe all over it - tastefully. It gave it this Renaissance kinda look but on a futuristic car. Very cool looking.

I looked for the image on the site but I think it's been moved or renamed. BUT I did download a full size, full resolution image at the time. Tell me how you'll like me to get it to you and your wish will be my command. If you like CGI you should check out the site [link] There's a lot of cutting edge stuff and things done just for fun.

Hey SpaceCowboy - I did get that email, it was sitting in my spam folder for ages before I found it. That car looks pretty bloody awesome, doesn't it? Kinda retro/future/renaissance, and the pinstripe is a cool sort of etched effect, very subtle. Thanks for sending it!

Nothing wrong with trial and error, especially when you're working on you own time.

Exactly Planetspectra - it's actually the primary way I work. I get a general idea of an image in my head, then I just see what happens. Often frustrating, but occasionally interesting results.
